Twenty-year-old Inna Faliks, "a fervent pianist of breathtaking virtuosity and strength who infuses every note with brilliance and personality," (Jane Shaw, the Island Packet of Hilton Head, South Carolina), graduated from the Music Center of the North Shore where she spent seven years under the guidance of the renowned Emilio del Rosario. An honor graduate of Niles North Township High School, she studied piano performance under the direction Dmitry Paperno at DePaul University. In May 1999, she received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Peabody Conservatory, studying with Ann Schein.
At the age of 10, Ms. Faliks came to the USA from Odessa, Ukraine, where she studied piano, form age 5, with her mother, Irene Faliks. At the age of 10 she also gave her first solo recital in Rome, Italy.
Ms. Faliks has been the recipient of many honors including being the recent winner of the Yale Gordon Concerto Competition, winner of the Illinois Young Performers Competition, the National MTNA Yamaha Competition, the Chicago Chopin Competition, and the New York Chopin Connection.
She has also performed numerous recitals and appeared with many orchestra. After becoming the first place winner in the 1998 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, she performed Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on the Theme of Paganini with the Hilton Head Orchestra.
