 The
NFMC 55th Biennial Convention in Orlando was a
musical extravaganza to savor for its beauty, variety of
presentations, and educational opportunities.
Performers included the
2009 Ellis Duo Piano Winners Drs. Stephen and Karen Savage; the
Schmidt, Perlman, and
Bailey Trio; the
2009 Young Artist winners, James Cockman, piano; Kay
Welch, soprano; Daniel Seigel, baritone; Angela Park, cello,
as well as wonderful junior performers, Gabrielle Chou,
piano; Alan Clark, piano, the
Florida Singing Sons, a
Piano Orchestra,
and the much anticipated
American Festival
Chorus, conducted by Dr. Dennis Price. For members,
teachers, and history buffs, there were workshops of all
types. The Florida
Federation of Music Clubs hosted the convention and is
to be congratulated for an enjoyable and unforgettable
experience.
